Black Dragon-Scale Scabbard

Provisional item visualization: one black scaled scabbard with multiple metal fittings, symbols, a ring and tassel, surrounded by translucent blade outlines on a cluttered forge table; black dragon-scale material and adaptive function are source-supported, while its exact form, fittings, symbols, tassel, effect, background axe and weapons, chains, bowl, hammer, cloth, forge, fire, and staging are not established, and Faf and Debt Collector are not depicted

Kind: Magic item Status: Held by Faf D’Gnarwol

A deep onyx-black dragon-scale scabbard recovered from Siegfried’s hoard in Session 14. It transforms its form and appearance to suit a chosen bladed weapon and protects the blade inside.

The table jokingly called it a “Scabbard of Many Colors,” but no formal inventory title was confirmed. The party offered it to Faf, who rejected the hoard and walked away; no final owner was established at that time. In Session 16, the DM explicitly gave the scabbard to Faf for Debt Collector, while Faf sought to keep water off the axe. No additional combat bonus was established.
