Jug of Living Lightning

Tags: dnd item magic campaign

Kind: Magic item Status: Thrown at Siegfried; recovery or consumption unresolved.

A sealed jug holding what looks like pure lightning, rattling and crackling around inside. It is the power source behind Raif Bright-fin’s storm-summoning Night Song performances. The party burgled Raif’s room and stole the jug (and his eight-foot moss-covered trident, a Triton sea-weapon) to sabotage his final set; without it, Raif’s round-three performance fell flat.

Bodius’s level 5 character sheet lists Jug of Lightning twice, so the working assumption is that this is the same item unless the DM distinguishes a second jug later.

Session 12 clarified that Raif magically reclaimed his trident during the fight, but the jug stayed with the party after Bodius/Moghammer recovered it.

In Session 14, Bodius threw the jug directly into Siegfried after applying Hexblade’s Curse and Hex. The impact released a major burst of living lightning. Neither transcript establishes whether the vessel shattered, was consumed, or could be recovered, so its post-fight status remains open.
