The Watcher
Kind: Song (in-world ballad, not the party’s) Performer: Gus Galloway First performed (heard): Session 11 — Old Tin Top’s, Midsommer Night’s Song, round two
Mid-set, Gus Galloway abandoned a crowd-pleaser and played this instead, an ancestral ballad he says came from his great-great-grandpappy. It tells of a Lich Lord casting a deadly, watching curse over the land. The party clocked the resonance with Chult’s own death curse and the Ras Nsi question, though the bards insisted it was just an old nursery rhyme.

In the ancient halls of legends, there came a deadly curse, of many, longer and unpleasant. Do not ask of which is worst. The Lich Lord watches on. The Lich Lord watches on…
For a dragon’s words, can aid be? If he wishes for a savior, the Gurglen’s locks can break free, that hidden horrors freed. We sing this warning to you. We pray it preys upon you, for there is only one truth: the Lich Lord watches on.
