Type: Hidden jungle casino / music venue
Region: Chult
Status: Recently departed; 284th Midsommer Night’s Song completed

Named on the glowing parchment invitation Balm Bitdoom gave Isilrod after Isilrod and Bonzo’s duet.

Invitation text: “Welcome Brotherbard. Join us in 5 nights time at old Tin Tops Juke Joint and Casino for an evening of Song.”

The party reached it in session 10 after following music, skeletons, and Isilrod’s glowing invitation through the jungle.

Exterior / Approach

At ground level, Old Tin Top’s appears as a massive half-sunken shipwreck overtaken by jungle growth. Vines, barnacles, ferns, and crustaceans form a trellis onto the deck. A lantern hangs high above the ship, and a hidden threshold opens into a canopy settlement.

A weathered sign at the venue reads: “No Gods, No Kings, No Covers. Mind the Monkeys.”

The invitation activated a mast elevator that carried the party up into the tree-village casino. Moghammer stayed parked below.

Interior

Old Tin Top’s is a suspended canopy complex with rope bridges, paper lanterns, huts, tents, bars, gambling rooms, a bird-fighting pit, and a central music venue. The venue uses purple sound-dampening curtains. Monkey servers move drinks. Rhino-like bartenders wear green visors and aprons. Bugbear jazz bands cover the space between acts.

Midsommer Night’s Song

The venue hosts the Midsommer Night’s Song performance contest. Session 10 was the 284th edition. Old Tin Top himself hosted.

Isilrod performed “The Old Mountain Keeps Eating Away” in round one, advanced, and ultimately won the 284th Midsommer Night’s Song in Session 11.

In Session 12, Old Tin Top rewarded Isilrod with two magical songs, including Old Tin Top’s Song of Home. The afterparty then collapsed into the golden-idol theft, Jacques LaFleur’s reveal from an Isolde disguise, and the black-fog Vesper possession fight. The venue survived, though the hall was damaged and some monkeys/rhinos were killed.

Open leads

  • The blue-flame fireplace can reach Baldur’s Gate and apparently the Port Xibalba bathhouse flue managed by Tubbs.
  • It remains unclear whether there is a real Isolde the Moth separate from Jacques LaFleur’s disguise.
