Chwinga-blessed as a boy, which permanently bars him from entering Aldani-cursed temples. Spent his life in obsessive pursuit of the golden statue inside the Temple of Cayochan but could never enter himself.
Used Mosquito to attempt to retrieve the statue; Mosquito died inside the temple (eaten by the undead owlbear). Then maneuvered Lilith into guiding the party there for the same purpose.
Appeared outside the temple when the party emerged: 7 feet tall, shaved head, bare chest under a half-scorched/rotten fine-fabric cloak, left arm twisted violet-black with glowing lava-crack veins — half-undead. Held a knife to Moghammer’s throat and demanded the statue. Faf threw a Nat 20 axe before anyone negotiated. Bodius got the kill shot (Eldritch blast).
His obsession appeared to go beyond money — Lilith suggested he’d used the temple before to trap and surprise others, and that the statue may have held personal significance beyond its 10,000 GP value.
Lilith was complicit in his plan but claims she did not personally bind Isilrod and Moghammer.
Posthumous clues
After Shago died, the party searched his body and found a map plus torn parchment note. Confirmed wording:
Shago - Deliver me the idol after the Night Song. We must then make haste south to the Basin and intercept Grackles and LeFleur, before they ruin all the fun.
The note was addressed to Shago, meaning some unseen patron was directing him to hand over the idol. Grackles and LeFleur are a named pair the patron wants intercepted south at the Basin; their identities are still unknown.
The map had three marked points. One led toward Old Tin Top’s Juke Joint and Casino, one points south toward the Basin, and one was labeled Dragon.
