The Death Curse

  • Location lies within chult
  • To find it, need one of these: red dragon, medusa, eagleman
  • “Trust the numbers” — told by Calypso to Bonzo
  • The curse prevents resurrection magic from returning the dead while it stands. Syndra Sylvane demonstrated this aboard the Brazen Pegasus.
  • Syndra and Throbbin Mistwillow previously sent a legendary party into Chult: Anthe Grackles, Jacque LeFleur, Mikshail Valakovich, and Cheezy Sloth. Syndra believed they died, but later evidence shows at least LaFleur survived.
  • Session 12: the Golden Statue of Cayochan revealed the whole party is now afflicted. Current mechanical clock: 0.25 max HP lost per day, or 1 max HP every 4 days.
  • In Session 14, the party killed Siegfried at the bottom of Wyrmheart Mine before asking where the curse lies. No one could speak with the dead. The medusa/eagleman clues remain, and the corpse may become useful if that magic is acquired later.
  • LaFleur suspects Ras Nsi because of his undead ties, but does not know Ras Nsi’s city/location.

Mina Aubrey’s Vampire Curse

  • Dr. Jack Aubrey is seeking a cure for his wife’s vampirism.
  • Ritual components: heart of a dragon ✅, tears of an angel, milk of a faerie.
  • Guidance: “Light a candle to the milk and that will show him the way.”

Bodius’s Family Painting

During the long rest in Wyrmheart Mine, Bodius dreamed of his family before the fire: his father teaching him the stars, his mother serving Sunday boiled hot dogs, and a ball game reflected in the room. Hours later, Siegfried’s hoard contained a crystal-framed painting of that exact scene. How the painting came to exist or reach the hoard is unknown.

The Algiz Rune

  • Arrow shaft that killed throbbin-mistwillow bore an algiz rune — “of the Symposium”
  • Mr. Stephens wore an algiz-rune marking necklace moments before the murder; the arrow bore the same sign.
  • The Symposium is a confirmed hidden faction, though many people still treat it as a myth.
  • Calypso told Bonzo: “The Symposium is real and it is not real. Sometimes the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing you it does not exist.”
  • Balm Bitdoom is a confirmed Symposium member and explicitly said “the Symposium is always watching” before disappearing after the party got the Kilburg Card Deck contract in writing.

The Purple Substance

  • Faintly purple manticore blood (looted from the colosseum) matches the purple bloodshot eyes of rhalzar-biskarr’s triceratops in the races
  • velmera-biskarr’s lab is likely producing this substance and using it on both arena animals and race dinosaurs

Flea’s Father

  • flea’s father is a guide named Mosquito
  • Mosquito’s partner or crew member is Chago
  • Lilith, a jungle guide, is searching for Mosquito and Chago
  • Lilith last saw them at the Temple of Cayochan
  • Plan: meet Lilith at first light at the ship; bring a canoe

Midsommer Night’s

  • Darrius had a blank invitation to Midsommer’s Night Song
  • Volo said the invite uses invisible ink and is revealed by playing an average song most excellently
  • Balm Bitdoom gave Isilrod a glowing parchment invitation after Isilrod and Bonzo’s duet
  • Invitation text: “Welcome Brotherbard. Join us in 5 nights time at old Tin Tops Juke Joint and Casino for an evening of Song.”
  • Old Tin Top’s Juke Joint and Casino is a hidden shipwreck/canopy casino in the jungle
  • Isilrod’s invitation became a magical guide when played, leading the party through a hidden threshold to the casino
  • Session 10 reached the 284th Midsommer Night’s Song; Isilrod advanced to round two after performing “The Old Mountain Keeps Eating Away”
  • Shago’s note appears to tie the idol delivery to the Night Song, then points south toward the Basin and an unclear “Grackles/Fleer” lead
  • Session 12 confirmed LaFleur is alive and was disguised as Isolde the Moth. The DM confirmed “Grackles” is Anthe Grackles, LaFleur’s captured companion, likely held at Shadowfang Keep.
  • Session 13 split the routes: LaFleur and Summer continued toward Shadowfang while the player party diverted to Wyrmheart Mine.

Balm Bitdoom’s Debt

  • Balm Bitdoom wants the Kilburg Card Deck from Ras Nsi’s pocket
  • Deadline: 3 months
  • If the party provides it, they can keep Balm Bitdoom’s gifted items except for 1 item
  • If they do not provide it, Balm Bitdoom says he will kill one party member
  • Contract is now in writing
  • Party suspicion: Balm Bitdoom may be big-bad-adjacent; possible counter-plan is to level up and kill him in 3 months instead of surrendering the deck
  • Balm Bitdoom’s exit line: “Don’t forget — the Symposium is always watching!”

The Cleared Forge and Its Faiths

Session 16 cleared the forge connected to Wyrmheart Mine. Its firenewt occupiers invoked Imix, an ancient fire god, yet their nonmagical statue did not resemble the traditional depiction according to a religion check. False or misguided worship is a possibility, not a confirmed identification of a different god.

The Song of the Albino Dwarf opened the runic treasury after Isilrod translated its riddle. The treasury held the Gauntlet of Moradin, described as a relic made for the first dwarven king and later safeguarded by albino dwarves. Faf independently embraced Vergadain and made a coin holy symbol.

Aldani Village and the Claw

Session 17 directly establishes a living Aldani village and its broken-machinery memorials. The blacksmith, Grum Anvilclaw, says six ancient claws existed, two remaining locally; this supersedes the earlier five-count with a new stated source. Bonzo passed the ownership rite and his claw grew a second pincer set, attack 2d10.

The sacred shell armor belongs to a separate jousting tradition at the Sunken Lists. The missing chef and absent ritual administrator are the same person, Van Cleavee (DM-confirmed). His disappearance and the village blight remain unexplained, without assuming a shared cause. A floating landmass in the Basin was sighted but not identified. The death curse applied one explicit max-HP loss to every PC; no new rate or cumulative count was established.
