Gauntlet of Moradin

Holder illustration — Isilrod performing as captain and bard; the Gauntlet of Moradin is not depicted

Kind: Magic item
Status: Held by Isilrod Gurglestrom; attunement unconfirmed

A gold-and-silver dwarven gauntlet recovered with the Gloves of Thievery from the locked forge-treasury chest in Session 16. Isilrod received the gauntlet in the final split, confirmed by Reed after the session. Attunement was not recorded; the old sheet AC is not silently recalculated.

Table-stated properties

  • Dwarf-only; grants +1 AC.
  • Four shared charges, restored at dawn while the gauntlet remains intact.
  • Fury: Spend one charge on a hit to add 2d6 radiant damage, a free action, once per turn.
  • Protection: Spend one charge as a bonus action for +2 AC until the start of the wearer’s next turn.
  • Final-charge destruction: Spending the fourth/final charge destroys the gauntlet and ends attunement, dealing radiant damage to the wearer. The transcripts render the damage as “46”; 4d6 is provisional pending the DM handout or audio confirmation. This is not a fifth-charge trigger, and destruction is not reversed at dawn.

Neither charged ability was used in Session 16. The table described Moradin making the gauntlet for the first dwarf king; clan infighting later lost it, and albino dwarves safeguarded it.
