Bodius Family Painting

Limited Wyrmheart setting study: one empty iron minecart on rails circling a central stone column, with stone galleries, arched openings, timber bracing, fixed flames, and a red-lit chasm; exact cart, architecture, lighting, and rail layout are unconfirmed, while Bodius’s family, the painting, crystal frame, dream scene, and disputed dimensions are not depicted

Kind: Treasure / mystery object Status: Held by Bodius Tea

A 10-by-16-inch painting in a crystal frame, recovered from Siegfried’s hoard in Session 14. It depicts Bodius and his family happily gathered at their hearth before the fire that destroyed them.

The image precisely mirrors Bodius’s dream from the same night’s long rest: his father, his mother serving boiled hot dogs, and the family ball game reflected in the room. How the painting knew the scene or reached Wyrmheart Mine remains unknown.

In Session 15, Bodius wore the painting strapped across his back, slept beneath it, and repeated the dream of home. The DM permitted him to use it as a normal shield and spellcasting focus “at your peril,” but the party immediately questioned the crystal frame’s durability. Its 10-by-16-inch Session 14 dimensions also conflict with the later “shield-sized” description, so its physical and mechanical treatment remains under review.
